Clans are the headline of the 17 April 2026 Mining Empire update, sitting next to extra layers and extra tools in the Roblox description. They are not a chat tag. Each online member adds 10% mining speed, clan wealth can be combined, and a leaderboard is already live with rewards promised for the top groups. If you still solo in a six-player server, you are playing a slower game than the people who opened how to join a clan.

What a clan actually gives you

The speed bonus is the part you feel in your hands. One online teammate is 10%. Two is 20%. A full six-player server of clanmates is 50% extra if every slot is your people — and the description says “for every member online,” so the bonus is live presence, not roster size. A 40-person clan with one person on is just a name. A three-person clan that actually logs in together outruns them. Run the numbers in the calculator before you spam invites.

Combined wealth is the social layer. Mining Empire is a personal cavern, but the clan pool lets you measure the group against the leaderboard. Rewards for top clans were “coming soon” in the April notes and still matter as a reason to keep the tag after the novelty fades. Treat the leaderboard like a weekly raid target, not a vanity plate.

When to join versus when to create

Join if two friends already play. Creating a dead clan to “own the name” wastes the Join A Clan badge energy and leaves you at 0% extra speed. The badge has been awarded about 1,869 times against hundreds of thousands of block miners — most of the population still has not joined. That is free value. Read clan boosts if you need the argument for your friends’ group chat.

Create if you are the one organizing a stack. Keep the roster small and online. Six-player servers mean you can literally fill the instance with the clan. That is rare on Roblox. Use it. Point everyone at the same layer so the 10% ticks on high-value stone, not on spawn gray.

How clans change rebirth and tools

A 20–50% speed bonus shortens the road to 500 gems. That is a faster rebirth, which is a faster shop cycle, which is a faster path off the wooden pickaxe documented in tool progression. Clans are not a side mode. They are a multiplier on every other page of this wiki. Auto mine plus a clan is how you sit in a deep layer without your wrist falling off. Auto mine alone in a solo server is still the base rate.

The developer asked for bug reports on the clan system in the same patch notes. Expect odd edge cases: boosts not applying until rejoin, wealth not combining until a refresh, leaderboard delay. Rejoin once before you assume the feature is broken. Then keep mining. The play guide still applies inside a tagged group.

Clan etiquette that actually helps

• Say which layer you are pushing so speed is not wasted on dead stone.
• Do not kick someone mid-Elusivium hunt for a stranger with a bigger pickaxe.
• Online time beats roster size. Prune ghosts.
• Share tool breakpoints from the tier list so new members stop buying sideways upgrades.

If you care about the leaderboard, treat it like a shift. Stack online members during the same two-hour window. The 10% bonus is per online member, so staggered logins waste the mechanic the patch was proud of. For a solo who refuses clans, the rest of the wiki still works — you will just watch tagged groups pass you on the same ore floor.
